Heartbeat Magazine
For five years, while I was a content strategist for madison/miles media, I had the privilege of working for a client called Mended Hearts and Mended Little Hearts. These sister organizations organize national peer-to-peer support programs for those who have heart disease, whether itβs acquired or congenital. They produce a magazine called Heartbeat, and I served as its editor for several years. In this role, I led the creation of many types of content, including feature articles, videos, and partner-led content in collaboration with sponsors including Edwards Lifesciences, AstraZeneca, Gilead, and St. Jude Medical (which was acquired by Abbott Laboratories in 2017).
During my time as editor, the magazine won a number of awards, including:
- Ozzie β Best Cover Design for Heartbeat magazine May/June 2017 issue (Association / Non-Profit β Cover Design β Non-Profit/Charity)
- Award of Distinction – Feature Article (From AVIA/Communicator Awards) “One-Size-Fits-All Medicine Is Not Fit for All“
- Apex – Grand Award for the Mended Hearts GoToGuide on Heart Attacks
